You have booked with us on a great weekend full of concerts, crafts, and events for all ages. This weekend we share the waterfront with Kempenfest. The waterfront will be busy and Kempenfest will be providing free shuttles as outlined below. We would encourage you to take advantage of them as parking directly at the waterfront will be a challenge. We look forward to seeing you!
Celebrating 50 Years of Kempenfest
In 1971 a handful of artists gathered in Barrie at the Formosa Springs Brewery to display their art on snow fencing and hopefully sell a few pieces. It was the birth of what would eventually be called Kempenfest. Fast forward 50 years and Kempenfest is now one of the largest outdoor arts, crafts, and music festival in Ontario. 2022 is our third attempt at a 50th edition and it is shaping up to be a fantastic celebration of reconnecting with our community of art and music lovers.
To help you get around, Kempenfest provides FREE shuttles servicing the waterfront, as well as park ‘n ride locations in the north and south end of Barrie easily accessed from Highway 400 and by Barrie Transit. Shuttles operate on a 15-30 minute frequency (depending on traffic) and stops are indicated with a Kempenfest Shuttle sign. Service starts at 9:00am and finishes with the last return trip to each park ‘n ride location at 10:00pm on Saturday/Sunday and 6:00pm on Monday.
The shuttles operate on a continuous loop between the Bayfield Mall as its north terminus and the Sadlon Arena as its south terminus, connecting to the Downtown Transit Terminal and Kempenfest at the waterfront.
Take advantage of free parking – park ‘n ride from the Sadlon Arena, Allandale Recreation Centre, Bayfield Mall, or Downtown Transit Terminal.
Hop on and off at any of the stops located on the northbound and southbound sides of Lakeshore Drive to get from one end of the event to the other easily.
