KAYAK LESSONS

Several types of Kayaks are now available on the market such as Sea Kayaks, Sit on Tops, and Recreational Kayaks.  Recreational and Sit on Top Kayaks can be used for our Kayaking Skills Clinics and Basic Kayaking Course.  When entering our kayak program we suggest learning these new skills with the equipment you already use and are familiar with.  However, if required, a Kayak and the Required Safety Equipment is available to rent for your lesson.


PADDLE CANADA BASIC KAYAKING COURSE​

This 8 hour course is the first step on the Paddle Canada Kayak Certification Program and is geared to the novice paddler. This course will provide the skills necessary for paddling in calm sheltered waters.   In this course we will cover safety equipment, boat design, paddles, injury prevention, kayak resources, judgement, lifting and carrying your kayak, fitting your kayak with a skirt, entering and exiting your kayak from shore, wet exits, swimming a kayak to shore, paddling strokes, draw strokes, low braces, rafting up, and assisted re-entry. 
Maximum course size is eight (Small Class Size, Instructor/Student ratio is 1:4)   

     $199.00 per person.

     Kayak Rental for course $24.99 per day.
     Wet Suit Rental for course $14.99 per day.

PADDLE CANADA SEA KAYAKING LEVEL ONE SKILLS 

The Paddle Canada Level One Course is step two in the Paddle Canada Sea Kayak Certification Program and it runs over 16 hours and provides new paddlers with the skills and knowledge for day long sea kayaking trips (non-wilderness area) in sheltered waters in the company of other paddlers with Level One skills or greater.  In this course we will cover safety equipment, boat design, paddles, injury prevention, kayak resources, journeying, seamanship, navigation, judgement, lifting and carrying your kayak, fitting your kayak with a skirt, entering and exiting your kayak from shore, wet exits, swimming a kayak to shore, bow rescues, assisted re-entry, unassisted re-entry, towing, communication, signals, paddle strokes, braces, sweeps, edge control, and stern rudders.
Maximum course size is eight (Small Class Size, Instructor/Student ratio is 1:4)
     $299.00 per person
     Kayaks Rental for course $24.99 per day.

     Wet Suit Rental for course $14.99 per day.
